Equipment Grants for Elementary and Middle Schools

Limited budgets in elementary and middle schools can hamper the ability to do experimental science in the classroom. We support requests for a wide variety of science equipment, such as beakers, robotics kits, electricity kits, activity kits, microscopes, and hands on equipment. We do not fund computers, tablets, or similar “technology”. We support the purchase of take-home activity kits for loaning to students and equipment that allows exploration beyond the standard curriculum. We may also support the purchase of curriculum materials that encourage experimentation inside and out of the classroom.

We are especially encourage applications from rural schools.

Currently, we only support schools in Colorado.

We will be reviewing and awarding grants quarterly in December, March, June, and September.

Proposals for these grants should include a brief description of your school (a paragraph or two at the most), including the number of students served and grade levels for which the equipment would be used, and the following information for each item:

  1. brief title and/or description of item desired
  2. quantity
  3. source and cost of each item (a website link would be helpful, but not necessary)
  4. how the item will be used

The requested items should be prioritized or rank-ordered in case we are unable to provide funds all items. Please include a contact person, including phone number, email, and mailing address.
